Intro

As seen in my motorhome page, I want to make my own motorhome.
The main aspects are described here; the main word is minimalistic.
That is because I want to be able to remove it from the van quickly and easily.
The Dokker was originally chosen because it has the longest loading compartment for a van of its size. However, after a test I decided for the opel Combo L2 instead.
While I was looking to buy the van, I learned that in Luxemburg, this type of van is considered as professionnal vehicule, and therefore has to undergo an inspection every year. I didn't particularly want that, so I had to change plan.
Solution: buy a regular "car", and remove the back seats.
The best vehicle for that is either the Ford grand Tourneo, or the Ford Tourneo Custom. (The VolkWagen (maxi) Caddy does the same for twice the price).
The furniture consists of a couch/bed, a folding table, and a shelf.
Storage is under the bed, on the shelf, but also provided by several hanging bags, or window bags(window bags).

And that’s it ! All you need in 4m².
The advantage is that you can’t see it is a motorhome, so you are not bound by the restrictions they face in many countries.
Yes, you don’t have much space, but I have rented motorhomes before and I realized you are hardly ever in, except to sleep or drive. I have the car radio and a portable PC with the phone for internet connection, the tablet for movies. Additional electrical alimentation can be easily provided.
As long as I can make a cup of coffee in the morning and a bowl of soup at night, I'm a happy camper.
Another advantage is that you can easily take out the elements for the regular national car inspection – so not submitted to special legislation for motorhomes either.
Cables are hung from the ceiling along the walls to allow hooking easily more hanger pouches if needed.
Elements are fixed to the floor/wall/ceiling using zip ties.
Chair is there just to be able to sit outside.
Shower (outside) is possible with a portable solar shower showerand a pop-up tent shower, or even an external shower like Douche.
But the easiest is to go to the local swimming pool, or use truckers stop facilities.
And if it gets cold, I have my poor man's heater: heater. It doesn't look like much but it will give you quite a lot of heat, specially in a reduced space.
Candles last about 3-4 hours and they're like 3€ for a pack of 100 in a big swedish store :-). I'm thinking about punching holes in the lid to convert it into a tea candle plate warmer.

Plein de bonnes idées pour la rando.
